Types of visa

ELECTRONIC TRAVEL AUTHORIZATION (eTA)

The Electronic Travel Authorization, known as the eTA, is a document issued by Canada's immigration department for travelers who are exempt from having to apply for a traditional Canadian tourist visa. This authorization is exclusively applicable to entries into Canada by air transport.

The process of obtaining the eTA is done digitally, and the response time is up to 48 hours after the request. Valid for 5 years or until your passport expires, it replaces the need for a tourist visa to visit Canada.

TOURIST VISA (V1)

The Tourist Visa, known as the V1, is the visa recommended for individuals wishing to visit Canada, whether for tourism, business meetings, events or courses lasting up to 24 weeks. This visa is issued with permission for multiple entries into the country and can be valid for up to a decade.

With a tourist visa, visitors are allowed to stay in the country for up to 6 months at a time. The whole process of applying for this visa can be done online, quickly and conveniently.

For visitors wishing to extend their stay in Canada beyond the 6-month period, it is possible to apply for an extension of visitor status through the Visitor Record.

VISITOR RECORD

The Visitor Record is an official document issued to international visitors to Canada who wish to extend their stay as visitors. It specifies the conditions and extended duration of the visitor's temporary residence.

This permit ensures that visitors can enjoy an extended stay in Canada while complying with the country's immigration regulations. The Visitor Record is therefore an essential tool for those who wish to maximize their time in Canada without infringing immigration guidelines.

SUPER VISA (PG-1)

The Super Visa, also known as the PG-1 or Parent and Grandparent Visa, is an exclusive type of visa intended for parents and grandparents who intend to visit a Canadian citizen or permanent resident in Canada. This visa offers the advantage of allowing parents/grandparents a stay of up to five years in the country after entry, without the need to apply for an extension of visitor status during this period.

In order for a family member to apply for PG-1, the Canadian citizen or permanent resident who will receive the visit must meet certain criteria stipulated by Canada's immigration authorities.

Therefore, the Super Visa stands out as an excellent option for long-term family visits, allowing parents and grandparents to enjoy quality time with their children and grandchildren in Canada, while complying with all IRCC requirements.
